Beer Can Race

You would think Beer Can Races are all about who can crush more cans and stay standing, but thats not it. Every Thursday we have an organized Beer Can race that is all about who can take a swig and sail with accuracy and speed. The race is around Alcatraz and back to Pier 39, with our school boats all rigged up the same it’s an even chance for each team. Come, Join, but don’t forget the brews dudes!

This Makes 12

We just added another keelboat to the fleet, which is welcome to all sailing students and members. She’s a hot little water baby from 1974. A Ranger 23, with lots of electronics including a depth finder and knot meter. Oh, you want to know how she moves? The Ranger 23 is a natural at sailing and the best for students to grasp the “feeling” of the elements below them.

We sailed the new rig from Sausalito back to our dock at Pier 39.
